Dog of Zone Experimental I
This is an experimental rendering from animation loop used in interactive projection.
I was playing around with breaking the form of the Dog up.
The animation sequence will not be rendered like this as it's too much work to process every animation frame to that extent.

Alice: Madness Returns (II)
Second concept I painted a few years ago for a pitch for a cinematic trailer for a game Alice: Madness Returns.
Just like with the first one - the director was Pete Candeland, the production company - Passion Pictures in London.
It was lots of fun with this one too.

Alice: Madness Returns
This is a concept image I did long time ago. It was for a pitch for a cinematic trailer for a game Alice: Madness Returns.
The director was Pete Candeland, the production company - Passion Pictures in London.

The pitch did not win but I had a lot of fun painting this one. Especially that I got a chance to use pieces of my personal artwork (Forest).

Patreon Poll

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 7, 2017, 7:40 AM
Hello!
I've been thinking about setting up a Patreon creator account to help with supporting my personal, non-commercial art.
I'm very interested in hearing your feedback about my work in general. Which projects are closest to you, which one (if any) you would like to see developed more?
It could very well be that things I find interesting/attractive are not that attractive to you.
And maybe some others that I don't take too seriously could be developed some more.
If you have any opinions - please vote in the poll I set up towards the top of the page.
If the poll is not good, is missing an option or you want to add something else - please, post a comment.
If you think this is a hopeless idea - I'd like to hear it too :)
Thanks a lot and I hope you're having good holidays, wherever you are ;)

Oakley's Vision Performance Lab

Journal Entry: Mon Jul 10, 2017, 1:02 PM
During my time as software engineer at Foundry (in R&D department) I was a technical lead on an experimental project for Oakley.
Due to the nature of R&D work the results usually take years to go public or, what's probably more likely, they don't get released at all.
So it's quite cool to see that just a few months after completing the project it can be viewed in public (although only in pilot mode at Oakley's headquarters in California).
Yazan Malkosh, former Head of Design at Foundry whom I was working on this job with, has visited Oakley's headquarters recently and wrote a review of what he saw on the stage.

Auto Character Setup

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 30, 2017, 3:48 AM
Auto Character Setup is an extension (plugin) for Foundry MODO (digital content creation application) that I've been developing since 2012.
In general terms it's a set of tools to help with animating characters in MODO.
It covers both the process of preparing 3d model for animation and the animation itself.
There were 2 versions of the plugin released so far (in 2013 and 2015).
Recently, I've finished working on a new website for the product and I thought I would share this, in case anyone is interested in 3D character animation:

Untitled Experiment 1
That is one of experiments that I did a few years ago.
It's a mixture of painting and 3d rendering.

Usually, these things don't turn out too well and I never show them.
So here's an exception. I actually regret now that I did not do this image in higher resolution.

The Postcards from The Zone have an incredible atmosphere. You have captured the abandoned and forgotten feel to them.
I hope we'll see more of them in the future!
