Really good, but why don't you make the next one gnarly or something? Your style is ambient, which is awesome, but these dogs look like some freaking fearsome beasts, you should totally try showcasing said fearsomeness. Why not make like one of them with it's head a bit more defined, the mouth especially, and like have it's mouth super wide open and tentacles come out.
Hey, thanks for a comment and suggestion To be honest, if I go anywhere further it'll be more likely towards making those into an abstract art, strokes and directions suggesting something there rather then going more into definition. I think there's more room for experiments and more power comes from less literal solutions. It's stronger when your imaginations works then if you're shown stuff directly. So... yeah, i'll keep it like that for now...
Well I didn't mean actually line the entire head, I just meant give it a tad bit more definition so tentacles and stuff coming from the mouth would make sense, but I respect it if you wish to keep the integrity of your style.
May I enquire as to how you plan these out? Do you just let it.. Bleed out?
you have to plan things in 3d, it's not a freestyle medium. but it works far better if you let it "bleed out" so what i do is I start from a quick ink drawings, about 10 minutes long, fast and energetic sketches. I do a lot of them, pick one up and then build on that. I use it as base for textures and composition. That allows for "freezing" the gesture in 3d and the keeping loose feel while having a lot of rendered details at the same time.
